Le Faux Miroir is a solo piano program exploring the fragile gap between what we hear and what we think we hear.
Inspired by René Magritte’s painting of the same name, this program unfolds in a world where perception and reality never fully align.
Beginning in the tranquil sound world of Emmanuel Durlet, where resonance and simplicity take center stage, the music gradually opens toward greater ambiguity.
In the work of Alain Craens, structures become more porous, culminating in Meditation, written especially for Babette Craens.
With Debussy and Ravel, sound becomes fluid and suggestive, while Poulenc introduces a lighter yet subtly unstable tone.
Le Faux Miroir traces a journey from stillness to movement - from clarity to ambiguity.

Lacunes explores what is left unsaid — the silences, fractures, and spaces between sound and word.
Lacunes is a program created in collaboration with soprano Fleur Strijbos, exploring what is left unsaid: silences, fractures, and the spaces between words and sounds.
Rather than avoiding these gaps, the music brings them into focus, treating absence as a place of tension, anticipation, and imagination.
The repertoire moves between familiar and lesser-known works, featuring music by August De Boeck, Piet Swerts, and contemporary Belgian composers including Alain Craens and Noah Senden.
Lacunes unfolds in fragments: moments that emerge and dissolve - inviting the listener to inhabit what lies in between.

Dream Images unfolds in a sound world where music does not describe, but evokes.
With Dream Images, mezzo-soprano Herlinde Van de Straete and pianist Babette Craens explore a sound world in which music and imagination are closely intertwined.
The program brings together songs and solo piano works that evoke images rather than describe them: like fragments of a dream that appear and dissolve.
At its core are the Vier Lieder op. 4 by Alban Berg, alongside works by George Crumb. Moving between voice and piano, the program unfolds as a continuous interplay between text and sound.
Shifting between clarity and ambiguity, Dream Images creates a space in which listeners are invited to form their own inner landscapes.
